Week 2: My Journey to the Top 1% – Progress & Lessons Learned

Introduction

Week 2 of my journey to the top 1% brought new challenges and insights. While my physical progress didn’t show up on the scale, I experienced positive changes in my energy, mood, and body composition. However, managing my social life while maintaining discipline in my nutrition and routine is proving to be a challenge. This week also marked the beginning of my deep dive into SEO and WordPress to build a strong foundation for my website, The Tailored Mind.


Health & Fitness Progress

Managing Nutrition in Social Settings

  • I struggled with staying under 2,000 kcals on days when I had social outings.
  • Need a better strategy to balance social life with nutritional discipline.

Protein Intake Challenges

  • Hitting my protein goal while keeping calories low is proving difficult.
  • Exploring high-protein, low-calorie food options to improve intake.

Sleep & Recovery Struggles

  • Late nights, especially after hockey on Tuesdays and Fridays, significantly impacted my sleep score and made waking up difficult.
  • Need to prioritize consistent sleep for better recovery and performance.

Body Composition Changes

  • No weight loss this week, but I lost inches, which is a sign of body recomposition.
  • My clothes are feeling looser, which is a great motivator.

Mood & Energy Levels

  • Felt significantly higher energy throughout the day.
  • No longer feeling drained after work, showing positive metabolic and mental shifts.

Mindset & Discipline

Struggles with Routine & Consistency

  • I need to be more disciplined in maintaining a structured routine.
  • Recovery, sleep, and habit consistency must improve for long-term success.

Confidence in My Business Idea

  • I shared my website idea with a few people but felt hesitant about presenting it before it’s polished.

  • Started learning SEO and website optimization to attract organic traffic to The Tailored Mind.
  • Realized designing a website is harder than expected—looking for inspiration on branding and content structure.

  • I did not read my book this week.
  • Prioritizing nightly reading moving forward to stay committed to personal growth.

Next Steps & Adjustments

  • Improve Nutrition Discipline: Plan better for social outings and stay mindful of calorie intake.
